Heathenx, I would probably pull it out as a pdf and change it in Xara if I wanted to retain vectors. As a raster I'd pull it out as a png and change it in almost any raster program. I have not had to do it often enough to work out an Inkscape method but the filter method sounds good.

I was dinking around around with filters again (can't seem to stop playing with them). By adding an feColorMatrix filter and adjusting the saturation only I was able to turn a color jpeg image into a grayscale image. That got me thinking...is this the best way to apply grayscale to a picture? Seems like I would want to do this with the Raster effects instead but I do not see it at first glance.
Have any of you needed or wanted to apply grayscale to something in Inkscape? How do you go about it?
