That depends on your operating system and window manager. Judging from your mail user agent, you appear to be using Windows. There, I would advise using the window menu, which you can access either by pressing alt-space while the Inkscape window is focused, or by right-clicking its taskbar button. There you will have choices to minimize, move, close and maximize the window. (These instructions are taken from my memory, I don't use Windows.)
