I've heard that on Linux if your wacom tablet is being recognized by Linux, it should work ok in the application. (I'd tried mine but Linux wasn't recognizing it so couldn't test it.)
I don't think we've heard from anyone who has attempted to use Inkscape with a tablet on Windows or Mac, so don't know if it would work there.
Have a try and see if it works, and let us know either way! :-)
