It's something that's been on my personal list for a while, but I've simply not had much time for Inkscape hacking these days. I won't object if someone else does it, so long as they don't mess up the existing layers functionality.
I know it's been on your personal list, which is kinda why I was asking. But I also knew that you haven't had much inkscape hacking time (but you've been fighting for the greater good)... I really wasn't sure if we were just rehashing the old conversation again for the new folks or what. :) So, are there any volunteers? I'm sure that if people need a little coaching that the dev community would be happy to help.
