What do you mean by "activate a bounding box"? There's a RFE for a "make page fit content" button in document prefs, it just needs to be implemented.
I'd like to have the "make page fit content" automatic when the borders are switched off.
I feel that when I export to PDF and I have no borders, I'd expect the drawing to be maximised on the available space. Otherwise, I would have added borders to clip/scale my drawing.
SVG always has some borders, even if Inkscape hides them from you.
I know. What I'd like is that Inkscape should automatically fit them to the drawing when I cannot see the borders (and therefore cannot have a clue how my drawing would be clipped/scaled).
