The solution is simple, but hard to find...
-Select your textbox with the _text_ tool, (so, there's a cursor blinking somewhere in the box), then
- find the small rectangle/handle at the lower right corner and drag it.
Now the frame resizes, but the text doesn't. It floats!
It only took me a year to find it out.
