[Inkscape-user] Inkscape crashes when importing an image

I am using inkscape on my debian system. On one machine, it crashes when I try to import an image or drag and drop it from a file manager. I am attaching the log captured in a terminal.

This happens with all images---type, size, color.

My installation details:

$ apt-cache policy inkscape inkscape: Installed: 0.91-9 Candidate: 0.91-9 Version table: *** 0.91-9 800 800 http://ftp.iitm.ac.in/debian testing/main amd64 Packages 600 http://ftp.iitm.ac.in/debian unstable/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
