[Inkscape-user] Is there a way to change the default line width?

I've looked for this feature, but haven't really known *where* to look, so I thought it might be worthwhile to shoot a question to this list -- just in case it isn't there.

The default line width is 1px, or .8 of a point. There are some drawings where I'd like to set the default line width to 2 points, or 1 point. As it stands, I've been changing the width manually after I draw it, which for complex drawings can be a pain.

Is there a way to change the default line width overall and per session? If not, I'll add it to the bug tracker because that would be a really useful feature.
