I have not used inkscape for a while and was self taught. It is a long learning curve which will be even harder now on my laptop with no mouse. I have a file created years back and need to add one number to it to make it 2015. I can't for the life of me remember which font I used and how to add the 5 in the right size and right angle. Could someone help please ? I would also like to remove the date completely but don't think that is possible, or is it ? am attaching the file if someone can help I would appreciate. cheers,Joanne

This file contains a reference to an external PNG image:
C:\Users\Turner\Documents\Crafts\Signature \inkscape_pasted_image_20111207_225137.png
There is no text by itself.

Hi Joanne,
your file is a bit strange ;) - as far as I could see, it contains several empty text blocks and a linked raster image which can only be found on your computer (and which we can't see, in consequence - you'd have to 'embed' it into the file if you want to move the file or send it to someone else).
So, no, you can't edit the text directly, because there doesn't seem to be any. Also, the font cannot be identified from a raster image.
Depending on the contents of the linked image, it might be possible to convert it to a vector image and manually draw an additional number. If you want to try that, I suggest you take a look into the tutorial inside Inkscape called 'Tracing'.
It might also be possible to remove the date, but then you'd better use a software for editing raster images (like The Gimp) instead of Inkscape. You can use the image file on your disk (image2580.png) for this directly, no need for the detour via svg.
Regards, Maren
