CyMK versus RGB: What is the status?
I am sorry when I have raised the issue of CMYK vs. RGB in the wrong thread, but since I am targeted by the issue anew, I would like to know where do we stand and whether it is possible and how to drill the PDF with correct color codes?
Thanks for any answer! Bernhard
A quick summary is that while Inkscape proper supports correct ICC-linked CMYK color, the library we use to draw to PDF output is limited to RGB only. We either need to get that changed to support ICC colors properly or switch to some library that does.
Note that this is not just "CMYK" but requires work in fully correcting, ICC-aware color manipulations.

Here is the current method for getting CMYK into a PDF when starting in Inkscape: http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entry/getting-cmyk-colors-from-inkscape-t...
Yes, it requires another tool to achieve it, but that's where things stand. The renderer we use to produce PDF does not have support for color spaces other than RGB and adding it isn't trivial.
Cheers, Josh
