You should join the mailing list for the project: http://openclipart.org/discussion
And/or join the http://inkscape.org mailing list inkscape-users to discuss these things.

- On Inkscape, is there a simple "erase" button? if i made a simple
mistake, is there an "eraser" that i can use? For example, if you have ever used PAINT on any windows computer, you would know there is an ERASE button. is there something similar on Inkscape? now i did try using the rectangle button and just covered it with a white box, and it went away. but then, when i exported it, i saw the box clear as day, and it stood out like a sore thumb... so, can you help?
- I noticed on the main page (when you first open Inkscape) that
there was an outline of a piece of paper. i created a design (just doodling) and i make something wher there are a bunch of lies going through that piece of paper, and continued on the other side (see attatchment). is there any way i can crop the outside of the paper? or is there a CROP button i can use?
thank you for the help!
Jordan,
Inkscape is very different from paint in that paint is a raster drawing program and inkscape is a vector drawing program. This means in paint you edit individual pixels where as inkscape objects and paths that can be edited.
A paint program is more analogous to actually drawing on a piece of paper. Dealing with vectors can take a little time before you get the hang of it.
I suggest you go through Tav's guidebook on line at:
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
You should find the quick start section particularly useful.
