Re: [Inkscape-user] Office vector formats
Your options are limited to either emf/wmf or eps, but I've found that eps produces the best results.... well, at least for _my_ documents that is.

As a linux user I have little experience with Office vector formats. Which formats that Inkscape can export works best with Office (2003 or 2007)?
Thanks

Note that *only* the Windows version of Inkscape is able to export as emf/wmf, so it may not be an option for the original poster.

Thanks for the info. As I expected, not much has changed. I still remember battling with emf/wmf and Word when Corel Draw 8 was still popular ;)
I'll give eps a try. I can probably get Inkscape to work in windows, but it doesn't sound like it's worth the effort...

Don't even bother trying eps. Stick with png- just export it at 600 dpi. The only reason you would use word is to print it later, so exporting at the printer resolution probably does a better job than letting word or the printer driver rasterize it.

Don't forget the filesize. I used PDF (with vectorgraphics) as image format with images plotted from MATLAB und ipe (as editor) and the images had a size of only few kB.
