will there be an rpm for opensuse 10.2?
I don't know that we have anyone with the skills to make opensuse rpms currently. From the number of suse users I've talked to in the last week I think this would be widely appreciated. If you've an interest in becoming a packager I offer to answer questions when I can.
You might also try out the autopackage. I put time into maintaining the autopackages because it seems like one way we can put in a small amount of effort to support a good number of distros.

thanks for your reply aaron. i am so new to opensuse i don't have the expertise to help in this area (yet). if someone would hold my hand real tight and walk me through the steps, i certainly would not mind becoming an opensuse rpm packager for you. know of anyone?
