Hi, i'm an adobe illustrator user but interessed in inkscape for months. I'd like to update inkscape's french translation to make it a little bit more professionnal (some expressions are quite childish in my opinion). Is there any easy way, i'm an illustrator not a developper ;) , to modify/create inkscape.mo efficiently ? Thanks. Nice week end for all.

For anyone interested in translating Inkscape, we have a page to explain how to do it. Go to inkscape.org, click 'Wiki', and then click on 'TranslationInformation' - it's down towards the bottom of the page under "User Interface Discussion". Here's a direct link, too:

It's good practices to always check to see if there is an active maintainer for a given translation, and if so to talk with them about changes and gain concensus on what to do.

Firstable, I'm french (nobody's perfect ;) and quite lost in the wiki page(in the sourceforge project too). Thats the reason why i prefere asking here, and disturbing by the same way, inkscape users ...sorry. For the question of translation, i admire all the work done and just want to create/test 'my' updated version before proposing it. I've downloaded the last french .po file and poeditor and will try to do something. Thanks Matiphas and Bryce for answers and all the work done on Inkscape.
