Perhaps not of specific interest to the majority of inkscape users, but I was listening to a recent podcast (Floss Weekly - http://www.twit.tv/floss29) and the interviewee described some experimental work ongoing with javascript and SVG support in the browser to do some neat things. Note that it will only work in the newer betas of FF3 and in Safari3 I think due to better native SVG support in those browsers.
