Good morning, I am writing to you about the Inkscape license, I wanted to ask you, therefore, if it was necessary, in case I used inkscape to create 2d works to be included in my commercial video game, some type of credits or acknowledgments to Inkscape or if I could use it freely without nothing additional
thank you for the help Nadr.
Hi Nadr, Here is the full license (https://inkscape.org/about/license/). The short answer to your question is that you /don't/ need to attribute Inkscape in your game. Software licensed under the "GPL" is free to /use/ however you want. The only real constraints come into play when you are repurposing the code itself and redistributing that software. If you had a mini paint game inside your game built with Inkscape code, then that would have some requirements. I hope that helps. Good luck with the game!

Hi Nadr,
You can see the files section at the top of this page: https://inkscape.org/about/license/
We do love it when games, movies and others credit Inkscape. As a charity project, we don't have any budget for outreach, so depend on people spreading the word themselves. So if a credit spot is available for Inkscape, we'd love to see it. But it's not required.

Hi Martin,
It never occurred to me that you needed credit/publicity, or I would have done more of that. As it is, my books "Mental Model Creation, Advance Edition" and "Rapid Learning For the 21st Century" both suggest Inkscape. From now on I'll put Inkscape in all my new books' acknowlegements, because every one of my books written after 2004 has graphics made with Inkscape, as do my web pages after 2004.
As a token of my thanks for what Inkscape's done for me, I just made a page called "A Tribute To Inkscape", at http://troubleshooters.com/linux/inkscape/inkscape_is_great.htm .
Thanks for enhancing my productivity over the years.

- I don't think that being a charity project prevents us from using some of our ample funds for outreach.
Actually, we did have a small budget for that in the form of a budget for the marketing and outreach team, which we did not use and which has not been renewed.
