Re: [Inkscape-user] Engraver's Toolbox in Linux (bulia byak)
So... it doesn't work quite like a charm, but it's pretty darned close.
When I try to use the sculpting tool in Linux, the entire Inkscape window is grabbed and moved. It looks like that's a feature of Linux - alt/click to drag a window. It is a neat feature that I didn't know about, but it does interfere with Inkscape's sculpt key mapping.

Yes. Personally I think we should make that configurable, but it's a complex bit to implement, and even more complex to "get right" as far as use goes.
In the mean time, most window managers under Linux allow you to set that to work with other than the alt key. Many people remap the window manager to use the "Windows" key found on most modern PC keyboards.

You gotta remap that Alt key. Use the "Windows" key for 'meta' (I think it is) that lets you drag windows and resize them, leaving ALT free for ink.

If you're using GNOME just make under preferences->Windows you can set this to Alt, Ctrl, Meta (win-key), just set it to Meta et voilà

It's a window manager setting -- you can assign window dragging to a different key as described here:
