Importing fig drawings on a windows box

Hi,
Has anyone had any luck using 0.44 windows to import fig documents? I noticed a small thread regarding this issue on a mac on the sourceforge forums; the ultimate recommendation was to post to this list.
I notice on http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/ch03s02.html (do a search on that page for "fig") that there is mention of needing to have fig2dev installed. I'm lost there.
Ideas? I have some fig documents I'd love to be able to import.
Thanks!

If you were the creator of those fig files, Christian, then you could export them (inside xfig) as svg.

Alternatively, you can use the converter fig2vect, available from
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/support/fig2vect/
