Node Handles Invisible after Shape Creation?
Trying to modify some shapes I made with the pen tool, I noticed that the node handles do not show up after the shape has been created. They do show up while drawing the shape, but once it is closed they seem to be invisible.
Is this intentional?
I found that you can hold shift and change the shape of the lines, or just grab the lines themselves and strech them like rubber bands, similar to the way they behave in Flash (but not the same).
Sometimes though, I would really like to see those handles, so I don't have to guess where they are, and can really fine tune my curves.
I found this page, I am not sure if it is relevant, since there is no date on it: http://www.angelfire.com/mi/kevincharles/inkscape/ncwf2.htm
I experience this behavior in
Inkscape 0.46dev+devel, built Mar 28 2007
and
Inkscape 0.45.1, built Mar 21 2007

When the node tool is selected, click on the right most icon in the tool controls. This toggles on and off the node handles. Note, only the handles of selected nodes and nodes adjacent to selected nodes are shown.

Tav,
Thank you! Kinda of small non-obvious button there. I knew I had handles before.

Not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but give this a shot...
Activate the node selector tool. There should be a button at the far end of the toolbar that says show node handles or something similar when you mouse over it. Select it and you should see the handles for the active object.
