I just had a look at the Inkscape website there and I don't see any packages specifically for SUSE.
You could try installing from the source package - maybe we can help you with that.
Otherwise you could ask on the SUSE mailing lists / forums for help as it's more of a SUSE related situation.

Hey People,
A very basic question: how do I select the _line_ color from the palette at the bottom of the screen? It seems I can only select the fill color with it. I tried all the tricks from other vector programs, but none worked.
Thanks,
Maarten

You can also drag it to the little stroke color indicator in the lower left of the Window, right?

i use suse and ubuntu. the install process is the same for both. uninstall the version that you have first. then download the .package file. you'll have to change the file to executable by right-clicking and selecting properties. it will install and add to your menus.
also, you can grab the rpm from guru's repo (http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/rpm/10.2/RPMS/i686/) for suse 10.2

Or you could uninstall whatever version you have and then download the autopackage install and use that. It's what I always do, and it has worked on Slackware, Centos, Fedora Core, Mepis, and Xubuntu.
