Official Inkscape PPAs
Hey All,
I just wanted to tell everyone about the creation of two PPAs that we created for Ubuntu users.
One is for the current stable/supported release of Inkscape (not populated yet). https://launchpad.net/~inkscape.dev/+archive/stable
The other is a nightly/trunk PPA for our testers and those who just want the newest features right away. https://launchpad.net/~inkscape.dev/+archive/trunk
We owe a big thank you to Alex Valavanis and Cafuego for doing all the hard stuff.
Cheers, Josh
Hi all, I have been trying to get in touch with somebody who can tell me what I need to do to get permission to sell my art work that was created with Inkscape and some with other programs as well. I would like to post them on RedBubble for sale. Could someone please let me know what I need to do.
Thanks,
Tonya

Inkscape puts no requirements on the documents that you create with it. You are free to do anything you wish with them. You don't need to ask us for permission.
I can't speak for your other tools, but it is highly unusual that they would put requirements on the work that you do with them.

If you would like to learn more about displaying and selling your art, you might consider joining this Yahoo list.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SciFiFantasyHorrorSpace_ArtShows/
It is where you will find artists and art show directors for almost all the major Science Fiction, Fantasy and Cosplay conventions. it's a very active and friendly list.
Good luck!

You don't need to get permission. It's your artwork, do as you wish.

As long as the artwork is your own, Inkscape's license shouldn't affect whether or not you're able to sell it for profit and you shouldn't need any special permission there.
Where you might be in a bit of a pickle is if you use software like the Adobe Suite under a Student or Educational license, in which case you're not authorized by Adobe to use the software for commercial work. If you have a full / standard license though, it's not an issue for that software either.
In summary, if you're using all free & open source software there, you should be fine and not need any extra permission. If you're using proprietary software, make sure you're using editions that allow for commercial usage.

(Just a side-note: I think that since CS5, Student and Teacher editions allow for commercial work if purchased by eligible individuals - http://www.adobe.com/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html)
