Dear Leadership,
I've worked through with the help of Roland, all the data for the first 2/3rds of the Bug Accelerator program to assess if we should extend it. There are two factors for the extension itself:
- Productivity and Focus
The project so far has cleared about 55-60% of the 1.5 marked bugs. There has been a great deal of activity in both categorising, reviewing and fixing issues. The list of issues fixed can be found on the Inkscape membership blog.
I assess that this has been remarkably successful.
- Availability
The second part is the availability of the three contractors to work for three more months. One programmer Sean, will not be available for an extension while the other two will be available.
In order to keep the strength of the team and the dynamic of merge request reviews I recommend that we contract out to the next available person who applied for the original contract.
Conclusion:
I recommend we extend the program a further three months as originally planned. The same number of hours as we currently have. With the additional selection of a replacement programmer.
Total renewal budget: $49,500 Terms: Same as "Bugfix Accelerator 2026.1"
========== VOTE ==========
a. Approve the budget for BFA 2026.2, b. Disapprove c. Something else
Thanks everyone!
