Hi, I'm currently using Inkscape 0.41 and when I open up old files, created with 0.39, all the objects that have a gradient fill appear with the correct gradient, but with transparency. I'm attaching an svg file and a png I exported when I created the original, so you can see the difference.

this is what we at openclipart.org call "transparent turkeys" ;) (because the first problem was encountered on a turkey image) it was a bug in Inkscape 0.39 which caused this transparency, but the bug is fixed now. a quick repair is to remove every occurrence of "fill-opacity:0.75000000;" from the file
