Hi Inkscape Developers and Designers,
I'm involved with the application VisiCut, an opensource and more userfriendly application to talk to Lasercutters. http://visicut.org/
One of the things I'd like to do is introduce better icons. I really like you guys work on the Tango icons for Inkscape.
So I'd like to properly credit the authors / designers. Could you guys help me out on how to do that?
At the moment I would use:
Tango Icon Library 0.8.90 (tango) link: http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Library license: Public Domain
Inkscape (inkscape) link: http://www.inkscape.org/ license: GPLv2
I found the icons in the Open Icon Libraryhttp://openiconlibrary.sourceforge.net/, but it's a bit unclear which icon is from which source.
Great work on Inkscape btw, I'm involved with Fablab Amersfoorthttp://www.fablabamersfoort.nl/nl and it's one of the tools we advocate.
Thanks in advance, Best regards, Peter Uithoven

As far as I can remember, the first work was a migration of the Tango ArtLibre set to inkscape so the authors of that set have to be credited.
I can't remember who did that first migration and created the first tango set for inkscape (maybe it was Andreas Nilsson, I'm not sure), but it was an incomplete set.
A couple of years after that first set, Jesús David Navarro (jEsuSda) picked it up and finished it. He modified and polished several icons, created new ones and created the set that finally shipped with Inkscape (although not as default).
I helped jEsuSda a little with a couple of icons and also created a "colored" version that used the Tango icons but mimicking the colors of the default toolbar icons. Mine was a rather small contribution anyway, credits should go to JEsuSda and the original designers.
Cheers, Gez.
P.s.: btw, Visicut looks really interesting! I wish I had a laser cutter to try it :)

Andreas Nilsson, Jakub Steiner, Lapo Calamandrei

Alright! Thanks for the quick reply.
I think I'm going for something like:
Icons designed by Andreas Nilsson, Jakub Steiner, Lapo Calamandrei, Jesús David Navarro and the designers behind the Tango and Tango ArtLibre icon libraries.
And for a lasercutter you can always visit one of the Fablabs in the world, there are a lot: http://fablabamersfoort.nl/fablabs/
Best regards, Peter Uithoven

Back in 2007 I worked on the tango set. I communicated with Jiho at the time. I don't quite remember which I did, I think it was mostly menu icons and a lot of work on accurately fitting existing icons to the pixel grid.

And that's the name I was trying to remember! :)
