Quick fix suggestion: Filter document "Page Size" options based on "display units" drop-down
Working on the video templates today and noticed that many of the options for template sizes that are present in the "New from template" dialogue are missing in the Document Properties options (including video templates).
But...
Rather than include a search (which may be nice but time-consuming as a fix).
Why don't we include them all, but filter the options shown based on the units selected in the "display units".
So if the user chooses "in" then show all options with dimensions listed in inches
In my case, the template would naturally be in px for video, so having chosen "px", I'd get my 1080p template right away without having to open a new file (or remember that 1080 is the height rather than the width, which always gives me issues remembering "1920" for some reason). At the least, I think it should make the px values float to the top of the list, for convenience. The sizes are somewhat haphazardly listed at the moment.

Templates can have more than a document data, like predefined content, so this kind of templates couldent get all on the document propieties widget.
Maybe is better make a list of reusable document sizes. In my point of view, maybe is better switch the units to PX -not filter the list- when a template for screen are used, etc.

It sounds interesting, but I'm struggling to visualise where you are in the interface.
Could you put together a quick screenshot with a few red lines etc?

Why no change the template data inside each svg template to allow a flag to put into the document predefined sizes instead the current list?

This shows three scenarios where the user chooses: px in mm
As you can see, the Page Size box populates based on the units chosen to show sizes marked that are measured in the unit chosen.
The logic is that the user already knows what template they want to work in, and what the units are, so based on the units, we can show the options that are relevant to the units chosen, and filter the others out.
This saves having to endlessly scroll through print document sizes when the user is working in pixels (includes web and video templates). It also acts as a filter based on print region, because no one is going to choose to work in inches and choose an A4 document template. If you are working in inches, you'll want the US paper sizes at the top of the list.
Also note that I've gotten rid of the massive spaces between the options, so you can see more options without having to use the fiddly little scrollbar at the side of the page size box.
