Hi Diego, welcome to the team! I'm Sylvain, the translator for French.
We already have an active translator for Brazilian Portuguese who joined us quite recently; currently he translates the website (from the left to the right as you might see). Certainly he will welcome your help.
You'll later be welcomed by Maren, our dear and benevolent leader (among the translators).
I suggest you tell a bit more about you, why you like Inkscape, what do you make with it, you might provide web links, etc. and then you could say if you have particular wishes as a translator/contributor (what would you like to translate?) or if you're just waiting for something to do; Roberto should help in the latter case.
Best Regards, -- Sylvain
Hi Diego,
I started to contribute with translations on website recently. These last few weeks due to my job I stopped a little with the contributions, but I assume that in the second week of September I will return to translate the content of the site. I've translated some parts especially the menus of home page. Yesterday I saw at a glance that there have been Updates on website, I will do these updates and then continue the translation up where I left off. If you want to assist can click on something that is not translated and translate, as now we are two, I'm going to put my name in page while working on it, and before publishing retreat my name. I'm doing everything linearly, in the sequence in which appears in the menus, then the links on the site to other areas that need to be translated too.
You will need permission for that, Maren and other administrators are responsible for that part. I waited a while to get permission to translate the content, so if you do not want to wait, you can go by translating and storing content locally, don't send to me to do the replacement, I don't have time for that at the moment. Wait at permission to make the substitution on website. As we're both "near" can send message to me on email directly, but here on the mailing list the people speak in English anyway. Any questions can also count on me in anything I can assist.

Hi Sylvain, Maren, Team Translators
At the moment I'm translating anything because I'm busy with other tasks. But in September I'm going continue to contribute with translations on the site.

Hi Diego,
welcome to the list and thank you for your offer to help with website translations!
You've already met Sylvain, and Roberto, our new (and up to now, our only) pt-br translator.
As a translator for Brazilian Portuguese, you're going to work together with Roberto on the pt-br parts of the website. To prevent parallel editing, it's a good idea to contact him and talk about who will do what.
Before you start out, as Martin has already written, the first thing you'd need to do is to read through the editing and translation parts of this Wiki page:
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/WebSite
It's very important that you read it carefully, because website editing comes with quite a few small and big 'traps' (it's normal to fall into them ;-), and we will help whereever we can, but it's also important that you try your best to avoid them, as time is scarce for everyone).
The po file for pt-br is almost fully translated, thanks to Roberto's wonderful work. If you would like to help improving those translations, please visit https://code.launchpad.net/~inkscape-webadmin/inkscape-web/translations and grab the pt-br .po file, edit it and create a bug report in https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape-web to submit your changes.
When you feel ready, please request membership to the translators team here: https://inkscape.org/en/*translator
(or is this: https://inkscape.org/en/~Alface your user account already?)
After you've been given editing permissions, please make your first steps in our sandbox page, to find out how things work, without disrupting 'real' contents: https://inkscape.org/en/sandbox/
(previous experience with django cms will be helpful, but is not a requirement)
If you have any questions, or when something unexpected happens while editing the website, please ask! We're there to help and to make the website a great place to find info about Inkscape for everyone ;-)
Kind Regards, Maren
