It really is a terrible shame.
It would appear logical to me to reduce the numerous features and
concentrate on the basics of performance. If there was an open source
alternative I would be there right now.
I have just completed a dream catcher where I support Inkscape with Gimp
and I had no problems, mind you you can't compare the complexity of the
Sorceress with my dream catcher :):)
I dream for better days :)

This matches my experience. It is still the vector based product i
favour, but its speed definitely affects what i draw and how, sadly.
