what do you thing should change on the installer ?
While upgrading the installer removes all dll's in the Inkscape and the lib and etc directory. So there should be no "old" files.

From this should I assume that the Inkscape installer doesn't look to see if a GTK+ installation is already present? I note that an old (2.4.0) version is installed under the Inkscape directory - is this the problematic version?
