There is a publisher who is interested in the book that I have written
(http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/index.php) but needs to be convinced that there is a real market for the book. In the proposal I have already quoted the growth in downloads from SourceForge and the inclusion of Inkscape in most major Linux distribution.
Choosing a publisher is probably a lot more work than a non writer like me would guess. I'm guessing a publisher brings the benefits of marketing, proofreading and distribution. However, if you don't need those benefits, and were willing to take care of the marketing and proofreading yourself, you could go with a self publisher like Lulu.com.
You could let the book prove itself, rather than prove it to the publisher first.
Either way, I'll buy a copy when it's ready. :-)
