Application Error -- HELP!
Running Inkscape on Windows Vista 32-bit. Previously, I had 0.48.1 installed, but last night when I went to run it, I received a pop-up box with the following message: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application." Thinking that maybe re-installing it would solve my problem, I got online this morning and downloaded the .exe for 0.48.2 and installed it. When I attempted to run it, I received the same message. Can anyone tell me please what is going on, and if it can be fixed?
TIA,
Christen

Try this: Completely shut down your computer, wait a minute or two and then boot it again. Now try to start Inkscape. Based on other user reports, after such a cycle (shutdown, pause, boot) Inkscape should start again without crash. This issue might reoccur though (for reasons unknown so far).
Probably related to Bug #453931 "Inkscape fails to start on Vista / Windows 7" https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/453931
