Inkscape svg vs. plain svg.
I know that some features of Inkscape svg go beyond the official svg standard and hence may not be interpreted properly by web browsers etc.
Is there a list of these features somewhere?
I know that's an old question, though I believe it deserves an answer. According to the FAQ[1] the 'Inkscape SVG' format only adds features used for editing the SVG in Inkscape. They don't influence the look of the SVG. So there shouldn't be any compatibility issues related to browser interpretation.

Mostly but not quite true. Inkscape flowed text (e.g. text in a shape) uses a feature that was included in the SVG 1.2 standard. The 1.2 standard was never officially adopted and only Inkscape and I believe Batik implemented the flowed text feature. Inkscape flowed text can be converted to normal SVG text (Text->Convert to Text). No browser implements all of the SVG 1.1 spec so it is possible to find things that render properly in Inkscape but not a browser (e.g. superscripts in Firefox).
There are also a handful of hidden features that rely on SVG 2 which are not yet supported in browsers. A normal user shouldn't come across these.

Thank you for the answer! Would be good if that differences were described in more detail somewhere in the wiki.
Also, regarding features like flowed text, shouldn't those only be saved in Inkscape SVG? Currently they are also saved in plain SVG.
FWIW, the issue about superscript texts not working in Firefox is filed at https://bugzil.la/308338.
