Rectangle Shape: Not Rounded, but 2 white dots are not in Upper Right Corner
I think i have to re-read your message, j, but before that I'll pass another email to you. If we just look at the rectangle and it's white dots, shouldn't we say that if the rectangle has a certain shape when the dots are in a certain place at one time, the rectangle should always have that same shape in other times?
aah, i think i can see what you are getting at now. is this the problem......
1. you make a evenly radiused rectangle by moving the first dot.
2. you move the second dot and get an radius that starts at the vertical dot and ends on the horizontal dot.
3. you decide that you prefered the first type of curve so you put the second dot back where it was and end up with a rectangle.
4. confusion.
that's a damn good point. if you put the dot back where it was then you'd expect inkscape to return to the way it was working before you moved it. anything else seems counter intuitive.
anyone else agree with this?
john michaelson.
it would make more sense if inkscape returned to the first kind of curve if you returned the dot back to where it started.

hello roberto,
it seems to me that inkscape has two modes of radiusing a rectangle. the first one has a radius where the horizontal and vertical distance are equal to the distance the first dot is from the corner. when you start using the second dot it switches to a second mode where the curve goes from the horizontal dot to the vertical dot.
what would be required is for inkscape to switch back to the first mode of radiusing if the second dot is returned to it's starting position. hopefully something like that wouldn't be too hard to implement.
