El tema es que los LPE no son destructivos y pueden generar elementos que lo modifiqen como knots (puntos verdes), paths(curva bend) o otros elementos basados en el elemento original(mirror symmetry con split items o meassure segments), no obstante algunos se añaden a la interface sin necesidad del dialogo, como en las curvas spiro o bspline con la herramienta pen/cil. En este sentido, para Inkscape hacer un Boolean Operation no será diferente de aplicar (literalmente, "Apply") un LPE. Haciéndo posible hacer modificaciones justo después de presionar el atajo de teclado de la Boolean Operation deseada. — Esto también aplica para Transforms, Fill and Stroke, Selection, Text, o básicamente cualquier posible movimiento que haga el usuario... Esto es más o menos como funciona Blender, aunque tú no puedes hacer una modificación y luego hacer otra y luego Ctrl + Z para modificar la anterior.
