I agree, it's time — :). I'm the French translator. I also love FLOSS (mainly with copyleft like Inkscape) and contribute to several translation projects; many French people are quite active at translation, however they're often not skilled…

After some tuning and testing, I'm almost finished translating
inkscape-website.po file into Simplified Chinese.
There are still 4 strings left, I really don't know what they are
about and how to translate, I've uploaded my work to github(
https://github.com/zm1990s/blog/blob/master/django_zh.po) and maybe
someone could help me with those 4 strings (line 618,line 3109)? 

* "This link will be used as absolute url for this item and replaces the view logic. <br />Note that by default this only applies for items with an empty "content" field." → This string is only shown to website editors (not normal users) in the dialog to create/edit a news article (or an article's translation). It describes the effect of the field just above: if you put something in it, your article will have a custom URL, whereas if you let the field empty, the news will get the standard URL in the form /news/year/month/day/article-slug/. I think we have never used this field currently.

* "Translated version of another news item." → I think I never saw that string. It is probably the content of a tooltip, still for editors, which appears when you put your mouse on a ‘translated version’ (but I don't really understand when it could appear). You can translate it litterally.

* The other fields come from the ‘/release’ website part which is still in development, which is meant to replace the current Download pages. https://inkscape.org/en/release/0.91/ Thus it is not important to have them correct at the time of writing. I think again it's a field for a website administrator/editor, which allows to select the default content shown to the user based on the user agent they provide. The user agent is a string sent by the web browser to the website server which contains information about the renderer used and its version, and the OS for which it was compiled; so that the website server knows a bit about your system and can give you the most relevant content. For example, if you use Firefox 47 under GNU/Linux, you should have something like ‘Mozilla/Gecko 47.0 Linux’ (there's at least twice more info, but I don't remember the remaining). The first field which is described will try to match (e.g. find a substring in the whole string) the field's content in the user agent. The second field will try to match any substring which is separated by pipes.

As soon as I finished this, I'd be glad to translate inkscape
website with those online editing tools. Could anyone give me the
right permission to do that? My username is *zm1990s*.  Thank you.

Only Maren and Martin can do that. They might be busy currently but they're come back soon.

One more thing, I noticed someone has already created Chinese pages
in Inkscape, and there's another language called "簡體中文", the
thing is Chinese equals "簡體中文", and the actual “簡體中文” 's
content is Traditional Chinese！ I'm trying to say is you should
replace “簡體中文”  with "繁體中文". And maybe better replace
"Chinese" with "简体中文".

Feel free to improve those translations, it will be much appreciated. I also edited some pages which were obsolete in other languages.

I'm still translating the content and in a few weeks I will publish.

You don't need to wait with publishing until you have everything translated. Just start with one page, and as soon as it's ready, publish it and see your translation on the web ;-)

The thing is, when anyone else publishes a page (in any language, so maybe Min or Sylvain publish in Chinese or French), then *all* changes in *all* drafts from *all* languages of that page will be published.

So best go page by page, and publish as you go, then you won't risk someone else publishing half-translated contents.

Are you sure? As I'm updating the tutorials, this doesn't apply. I must publish everything independently.

You actually risk seeing your content published by someone else as I don't like unpublished contents. It tends to be forgotten and to linger without anyone knowing the purpose. I don't want any language to mimic the current state of the Korean language (all its pages are drafs; the home page is published but not the last version; and I'm pretty sure nobody knows what it means).

Hey, that's worse than I thought. Why are there so many blue and grey dots (in the list of pages in the administration interface)? Can't you publish, guys? de, nl, it, pt-br, cs, ru, zh-hant and ko, why do you let your homepage suffering of not being published like that? -- Sylvain
