svg plugin

Hi, I was just wondering, while we're waiting for Mozilla and Firefox to implement full svg support, is there any plugin available for Linux to see svg drawings inside a web page? Of course I know of the Adobe svg plugin, but it seems to be available only for RedHat 7.1 (quite far away in time by now). Would it be very difficult to adapt the inkview code to act as a plugin and not as an external viewer? Anonymous Bug reports and feature requests are a bad idea. There are many anonymous bug reports and feature requests that are poorly explained some with no more than a summary and no description whatsoever. Without someone to follow up and provide a more detailed description I think these reports only waste people time. Many of the requests are wishlists, rather than specific enhancment requests. There are inevitably duplicate or overlapping reports. Vague suggestions and requests should be directed to the user list so that we at least have a contact address and can get people to clarify what they mean. If the suggestions are good and users are still unwilling to register to file a bug report some one else will be willing to put their name to the report. Openness is good up to a point but I think a minimum barrier is necessary, and that reporters are need to put their name to a report and take some responsibility and show they care about a feature before developers expecting developers to spend their time on it. I dont believe that many people are looking at the request tracker and it is difficult to manage so many vague reports. Hi all, Down at the bottom of the roadmap (http://www.inkscape.org/roadmap.php) there's a note about splitting the SVG canvas out of Inkscape. I'm wondering how far this goal is in terms of development effort. The canvas in Inkscape is by far the best looking and most functional I've seen in any free software project. I'm sure there are many projects which would benefit from a canvas with nice antialiased output to screen, good print quality by SVG->PS conversion and the ability to manipulate the figure by pointing and clicking in some way. Could someone familiar with the Inkscape code estimate if it would make sense at the moment to try to use the canvas this way in, say, another GTKmm-application? Or is the code just too much coupled with GUI right now? All the best, Teemu

Adding tablet support to inkscape

I noticed that The UI is being upgraded from gtk+ to gtkmm I would like to try and get Pen Tablet support (it is probably a good time). My early experiments in doing this are not doing too well (considering that the GTK documentation is totally out of date). The dynadraw tool looks like the easiest to convert to use extended input But I don't seem to be able to get it to respond to this extra information. >From what I have managed to glean so far "gdk_input_set_extension_events" has to be called on each "gdk_window" you want to get receive extended event information. So far I have tried doing this with sp_canvas but it seams not to have worked. Which gdk_window(s) does the dynadraw context draw onto?
