Fwd: Extension request: Auto-generate rectangles based on input values
by Ibrahim Duz
Dear dev community members,
I am not sure whether this is the right way to ask for it. But I would like
to make an extension (feature) request for a client of mine who uses your
application. He is using Inkscape on a daily basis and doing a lot of
repetitive actions in the program for which we thought an extension would
be a good solution to reduce the time in his work.
This is basically what he wants:
He wants to fill 3 values: Width x Height x Depth (maybe in a popup)
Based on these 3 values, 7 rectangles need to be created based on some
calculation on the values he entered.
I have added an example outcome of what he wants to be produced.
All other values can be calculated based on the initial 3 values he enters.
Is there anyone from the dev team who can help us out and discuss about the
further requirements?
Hope to hear from you.
Keep up the good work!
Kind regards,
Ibrahim Duz

[deb@...3057...: We want your stickers and your news!]
by Bryce Harrington
Chris, can you touch base with Deb regarding stickers?
Michele, can you give Deb a summary of recent news items from Inkscape
for the SFC blog?

Subject: We want your stickers and your news!
Hi all,
It is about to be "conference season" again. Conservancy will have a
booth at OSCON and All Things Open along with some other events over
the next six months and maybe you'll also be attending some events?
Anyway, we have three quick asks:
1) We'd love to share your project stickers when we table, so please
send us some! Just email me and we'll figure out who's closest to you
for mailing.
2) If you are low on stickers or materials for your own use, let us
know so we can get you squared away well before conference season! We
can absolutely re-order stuff like that for you, as long as you've got
the artwork on file.
3) We'd love to hear about the events you're attending, talks you're
giving or have given and the events you're hosting so we can share them
on the monthly "news round-up" posts on our website.
Examples here:
https://sfconservancy.org/blog/2019/may/28/may2019RU/
https://sfconservancy.org/blog/2019/apr/17/apr2019RU/
As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or just to share
any plans or ideas you have for promoting your project.
We're here to help.
Best,
Deb

OpenClipart
by unknown@example.com
Devels,
Do we have any details on what happened to OpenClipart.org? It's an
important resource for Inkscape users and it's one we have embedded
into our software, but has been down for a very long time.
Is there anything we can do to help?
Best Regards, Martin Owens

Hackfest dinner in Saarbrücken
by Tobias Ellinghaus
Hello,
on Tuesday, 28th of Mai, the hackfest dinner is planned. I was asked to find
some places where to go and came up with the following selection:
- a typical local place with local food and good beer:
http://www.der-stiefel.de/
- Mexican food:
https://www.cafe-especial.com/
There are a ton of other places in that area of the city, but I'd suggest the
Stiefel. If you want me to book a table for about 15 people I need to know
soon. I'd also need to know a time, maybe 19:30 or 20:00?

Re: [Inkscape-devel] That is where the inkscape logo must be
by Maren Hachmann
May we use it in a social media post, Jürgen? (should have asked right
away, but only got the idea now)
I see you already cut it a bit, so I don't need to ask about that anymore :)

Mailman3 rollout plan
by Bryce Harrington
In 2 weeks I'd like to complete the mailing list transition.
That timeframe should put us past the hackfest and the June team
meetings, so should be a minimal chance of project disruption. If no
one raises an objection, I'll send out notices[1] to each list of the
pending move this Monday evening.
https://lists.inkscape.org is up and ready for use now - subscribe early
if you'd like. On the transition day (Saturday, June 8th), I'll run the
archives importer, send out the final move notices, and close the
sourceforge mailing lists.
If you have questions or run into problems, file a bug report
(https://inkscape.org/report) and subscribe me.
Thanks,
Bryce
