After discussing it with David Yip we think it would be a good idea to merge the INKBOARD_PEDRO branch into trunk. pedro is stable and there are a few issues with the way the was the branch works that would make it easier to work with in trunk inkboard is pretty self contained and there would be minimal changes to the verb / file / document source files, removing the old inkboard stuff I just thought I should mail the list for the go ahead?

Thanks, Cedric. I has been completely immersed working in my thesis the last few weeks. Today I finished writing and will be exposing next week. Then back to work with you guys.Also, I feel that now that 0.44 is almost out we can spend more brain in what's next :-) . However, I have a few ideas and opininons, will be posting them right now in the wiki. merge the filters?

Shall we merge the filters branch into trunk? I've never done this before, but I suspect that it works something like this. Inside of a working copy of trunk type: svn merge -r 12093:HEAD https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inkscape/inkscape/branches/svg-filters and then commit after fixing any conflicts. Does taht sound about right? Should this happen now-ish? Aaron Spike

Layers dialog

Well, I think we're hitting the home stretch here. I've folded in most of the main functional changes, including scrolling, pop-up menus, in-place editing of layer names, and not rebuilding the entire tree every time you select a different layer. Depending on how robust things are, I may be able to add the eye and lock icons, and to switch the status bar's layer selector to use the same layer manager back-end. However, any poking at it people can do in the mean time would be helpful.

Spanish translation update

Hi all, Yesterday I uploaded a little patch for the spanish po file. Matiphas told me to inform you if I wnated the patch to be applied. I don't think the three new strings are important enough (they are SIOX related) to break the freeze. But if you think there's no problem in applying the corrections, please go ahead. coordinate system flip for 0.45

One thing I'd like to address for the 0.45 release cycle is finally flipping Inkscape's coordinate system to match the SVG specification. However, before we can do that, there's one big looming issue: Grid and guides are stored in "Sodipodi coordinates". That means, for example, that a horizontal guide at position 0 will be at the bottom of the page. To address this, I'd like to propose a new feature: allow the user to specify the origin for grid and guides. The UI for the setting would be one of those 9x9 button grid things, which lets you pick one of nine positions: - top left - top center - top right - left center - center - right center - bottom left - bottom center - bottom right Guide positions would be reckoned from the selected edges, so that changing from top left to top right would flip the position of vertical guides. Thoughts? -mental
