Eraser

Hello.
I have realized that an extension inkscape, by means of filters and
clones
makes some other deleted objects in overlapping parts, something
also cut live.
The problem is quite complicated and the resulting svg uses a
filter that erodes quality minimally deleted edges, which I think would
be invaluable in print because you have to
maximum zoom to see the difference of pixelization.
Researching upcoming SVG specification have seen that the primitive
blend filter-I-will have to incorporate a new method that is
draft.
I understand it's a little early to incorporate it into inkscape, but it
occurred to me that if you could add a new element to inkscape namespace
for the element that contains all Scrap right of the lower elements of
the group.
More could be done adelate this namespace be reflected in any svg
renderer thanks to the new way of blend filter primitive.
Now I'm starting with B-Spline extension but I think this is a good
thing for inkscape, and they can see how it works if you install the
extension in the latest stable version, is not urgent since no
alternative but can be interesting look.
The extension is set in inkscape forums with a link to the website of my
company and a donation button if any millionaire out there .

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ahi.

Re: [Inkscape-devel] B-Spline

Good morning.
I am very glad that people are getting involved in the project. I thank
especially Arshdeep Singh for offering with such enthusiasm, I look
forward to working with him and learn.
I am also happy news for the project provided by Johan Engelen lib2geom
of the project, which seems key to the achievement of the B-Splines in
Inkscape.
For my part I contribute my part of the way and start coding before I
point out what I think we need to get.
The BSplines give the artist total control to make layouts without using
handlers, giving a speed and accuracy, I think, unique in the world of
drawing.
This feature is primarily patent while you draw each stroke, implement
this feature at the end of the path has no make much sense.
I therefore propose branch-if so-called the project into two consecutive
parts:
The first is a part facilitator also has benefits spiro tool. They are
getting while drawing a spiro curve, the mark of the "road" is already
the final route, without going into consideration to show both paths
and / or buttons to switch.
The second would be to implement a curve BSpline like a Spiro.
In both modes "spiro" and "BSPLINE" would be important to assign a key
to draw the next point is a corner point.
Do you think well this way?
-------------------------------------------------------------

I am a computer graphics enthusiast who loves mathematics. The idea of
implementing B-Splines seems really cool. I am proficient in C/C++.
And I am doing a course in college that covers the basics of Beizer
Curves and B-Splines. Can I be of any help ?

Thanks for the response.

It doesn't seem to be giving me an color managed screen proof though. If
I fill a square with a hexadecimal value in Inkscape and fill a square
with the same value in Gimp, on screen they look like two different colors.

This is unfortunate, but as long as I am primarily working in sRGB this
is still usable for created screen/web graphics.
Thanks again.

Color Management Doesn’t Seem to Work
by Jason Simanek
Hi,
I'm trying to nail down a color managed workflow for my design work
(print and web). I am running Inkscape Trunk on Ubuntu 12.04. I can't
seem to get Inkscape to output color managed colors.
For a test I export my Inkscape artwork as a PNG and open the resulting
PNG in Firefox (with full color management turned on) as well as Gimp
(with color management turned on).
My laptop display has been calibrated with a colorimeter via
colord/Argyle. I have assigned this display color profile in both Gimp
and Inkscape preferences.
The colors in my graphic should match in all three applications, but
Inkscape is obviously showing over-saturated colors while Gimp and
Firefox match exactly.
Am I doing something wrong? Is color management in Inkscape not really
working correctly yet?
Any help is much appreciated.

Shared library
by Alex Valavanis
Hi All,
I'm not an expert on this kind of thing, but is there a reason why we
don't distribute libinkscape as a shared library? At the moment,
Inkscape and Inkview share a huge amount of code and they are both
pretty big executables. Presumably, we'd save a lot of installation
space with a shared lib.

Re: [Inkscape-devel] B-Spline

According council go Gronde Jasper I decided not to do before an
extension in Python. I created a branch in Launchpad called B-Spline.
As I want to make it work with the tool Beizer I have a problem. This is
the result I want to see while drawing tool like calligraphic strokes.
Subtraction accurately understand this if, for example, stroke is the
width or has a color similar to background. From what I see important
that the line where the stroke will go, once completed, should continue
as a curve or BSPLINE spiro and not currently a curve Beizer.
For as designed the efect that are updated live to close the path not
know if this is possible or not. Does anyone know?

Re: [Inkscape-devel] B-Spline

Traductor
inkscape create a path effect
In the attached document on the B-splines, especially in point 4, I read
the way a cubic Beizer curve, generate another curve to follow another
path to simulate a curve B-Spline.
At this point I find doubts.
I understand that the ideal is that the system works as curbas Spyro.
The Spyro curbas are really a "LIVE PATH EFFECT".
My ask is:
I have doubts if start is better here or a different starting point and
go directly to the "live path effects"
My current point is: develop it as an extension in Python that from a
path, create another with the path I should follow BSPLINE for points
and handles used in the original path.
Moreover Barendrecht Pieter offered me another way with groups but do
not understand. Thanks Peter.
Thank you very much in advance for their cooperation.

Future releases
by Josh Andler
Hey All,
I'd like to proposed that after we get 0.49 out the door, we have
regular planned releases. No more "always open" trunk development. But
leverage merge windows instead... which also means needing to land
"more complete" features in trunk than we've historically allowed. I'd
love to see us have 6 month cycles to get features and fixes out to
users sooner. It's awesome to have flashy new stuff for every release,
but it's just not necessary.
What are people's thoughts on this tried and true strategy many other
projects use? Can we at least give it a shot?
Cheers,
Josh
