*Update:* I did a *vagrant reload* and that seemed to make the trick: the */home/vagrant/inkscape* folder in the VM is now mirroring my host file system, and a.t.m. my cpu fan is running at 100% because Inkscape is compiling inside the VM! Special static analysis build target

Hi all, To speed up the static analysis and clean up the list of bugs, I would like to have a "make static-analysis" or some other way to "tell make" to not compile the directories that we do not want static analysis on, and not to do all non-compile jobs (so also not link). The following directories should be excluded: - libcroco - libgdl - libavoid As you perhaps have seen, these libs trigger a bunch of static analysis errors, but they really should be fixed upstream. libavoid in Inkscape: bug with compiler optimization

Hello Michael, While running a static analyzer on Inkscape's codebase [1], I found a fairly severe bug in our copy of libavoid. I checked your git repository, and the bug is still present. In graph.cpp, from line 643: void EdgeList::clear(void) { while (_firstEdge) { delete _firstEdge; } COLA_ASSERT(_count == 0); _lastEdge = NULL; } The bug here is that the compiler might optimize the loop-condition and only check it once, assuming that the destructor of _firstEdge does not have the side-effect of changing _firstEdge. In fact, libavoid's design is such that the destructor does have such a side effect. I find this a *very* questionable design, that is bound to cause bugs for developers contributing code or, in this case, by a (afaik fairly common, see [2]) compiler optimization. I am surprised you have not had programs run into this problem. However, I cannot rewrite all the code that relies on that behavior. I hope you would consider redesigning the list implementation, such that it does not have unintuitive side effects. For me it's a clear vote for #3, Eisvogel. Simple but different than most about-screens I've seen lately. (although #1 and #2 are also very good. Use-after-free bug in text_reassemble.c

Hello David, Recently, clang's static-analyzer found a use-after-free bug in your code in extension/internal/text_reassemble.c [1] The fact that the trace is 83 steps long and goes all over the file is very worrying, and means it would take someone unfamiliar with the code a lot of time to fix the bug. Hiya, I saw an article about your new funded development policy, and read over the Funded Development Model page. Is this the Proposed Projects list: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Projects ? It would be nice for http://inkscape.org/en/contribute/funded-devel/ to link the text "Proposed Projects list" to the appropriate page (whether that's on the wiki, the website, or etc..). Speaking of the wiki, it would be very convenient if the wiki login page (http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin) linked the text "email the developer list" to the devel list section of the mailing list page, (e.g. http://inkscape.org/en/community/mailing-lists/#inkscape-devel). Regarding source code, I didn't find a repository url or checkout instructions on the "Inkscape's Repositories" page (http://inkscape.org/en/develop/inkscape-bzr/).
