Inkscape with git-bzr-ng, error pulling from trunk
by Christoffer Holmstedt
Hi
I'm following the instructions on our website at [1] but I'm missing
one critical part of information.
If I clone the repository one weekend and then come back to it a week
later the first thing I need to do is to update master branch
(lp:inkscape / trunk) so I have the latest commits on my local
machine. How is this done properly?
"git bzr sync" from [2] seems to be the right command but I'm not
sure, it succeeds without errors most of the time. "git pull" doesn't
work because I don't have any remotes in my "git" repository. "git bzr
pull" gives errors some times but not always.
The errors I get from both "git bzr sync" and "git bzr pull" are as follows:
"warning: Not updating refs/heads/bzr/master (new tip
bbdb26a8c9d67d9c75d03c43b8db4686008a0913 does not contain
deaf8922dbca36e15fe43a72b2b4320ae649a42f)"
The message is sort of obvious that my local branch and remote have
diverged but they have not when I compare "git log" with the commits
available on launchpad in lp:inkscape.

Any help is appreciated.

Path outliner
by Krzysztof Kosiński
I recently noticed some commits to a 'path outliner'
(src/helper/geom-pathstroke.cpp). This looks like something that
should eventually be moved into 2Geom.

win32 wix based msi installer - next steps
by the Adib
Hello All,
instead of following https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1418595 I
would like to share my ideas for the wix based win32/win64 msi installer.
The msi based installer was introduced in 0.91. It has several flaws -
beside some benefits using native platform installer framework.
1. does not detect old exe based installation
but: installer should report directory already exists ...
2. does not allow win32 and win64 side by side installation
but: prevents doing so
can be implemented, but I think it confuses user which application is
linked as .svg application
3. is not localized
I am working on how todo: localisation of installer with single msi file
4. does not allow easy upgrade
but: will ask for deinstallation first
Patch commited for easy upgrade
5. some reports of not linked .svg to inkscape application
not yet investigated
As of the nature of things before starting localisation all outstanding
features should be implemented.
I would like to see those fixes backported to release 0.91 branch.
So I want to ask: what else do you expect from inkscape msi installer on
win32 platform? And where should be the priorities?
Regards,
Adib.

Board resignation
by Johan Engelen
Hello all,
A few days ago, I resigned my position on the board.
Because of my very low activity (last commit was 3 months ago) and
decreased interest in the project, it was time for me to leave the board
and make room for someone with fresh energy.
There will be an election held to find a replacement board member.
Think about whether you'd be interested in having a seat on the board,
or who you think should apply for candidacy! There are excellent
candidates in our community that deserve to be member of the board.
cheers,
Johan
