Thank you everyone!
---------------------
Explanation:
Ranking:
Put the numbers in order of preference, so '32154' would mean 3 is
your first choice, 2 is your second choice etc. You don't have to rank
all numbers if you don't want to.
The system that is used for determining the winner is
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting, using the package
openSTV from Ubuntu repositories. Ties will be broken randomly.
Name or nickname:
The name you usually use in your communication in the Inkscape project,
required in case you change your vote or forgot that you had already voted.
Contribution to Inkscape:
As we have decided to allow voting from Inkscape contributors (as
opposed to C++ developers and translators in the AUTHORS file only),
please help us with determining your eligibility for voting by telling
us what you do or did in the Inkscape project (very short, only main
area, e.g. 'writing Inkscape code', 'writing website code', 'writing
news articles', 'setting up infrastructure', 'translating', 'forum
moderation', 'bug triage', 'board member' etc.).
-----------------
PS:
For future votes, we're thinking of using the system on the website.
Consider joining one or more teams [0] there, and to add a description
to your user profile that outlines what you do here a bit, in
preparation for that :)

Hi,
I'd like to count your vote, 'camelworks', but I've got no idea who you are.
Can you please add your Inkscape contributor nickname and what area
you've been contributing to?

Hi everyone!
We are quickly approaching the long-awaited 1.0 release of Inkscape, and
to allow easier testing of the progress we've made with it, we just
released a 1.0-beta2 version!
You can get the release at https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.0beta2/ in the form of source tarball to compile, AppImage for Linux, and .dmg for macOS (windows soon).
The most visible changes should be :
- MacOS Catalina users should be able to manipulate files
- More responsive interface (faster rendering)
- Improved text rendering
All testers are encouraged to test this version and report bugs at inkscape.org/report
The release date for 1.0 is not set in stone yet, but if we don't get major bug reports I expect a release around the end of December.
== Translators ==
Thanks for your work! Strings have been frozen for a while, and it's not too late to submit translations until release date.
== Developers ==
We have now branched the code repo. The new branch 1.0.x now only welcomes bugfixes, translations and easy-to-review changes; while features, performance, code improvements, or anything that was left waiting in prevision of 1.1 are free to go to the master branch.
== All contributors ==
All Inkscape contributors (be it with development, translation, Vectors (outreach), documentation, UX research, etc) are encouraged to vote in the About Screen contest before Dec 15th!
Thanks all!

Hello,
I am a member of Godot Engine's organization team for FOSDEM. We have been
granted with a "Game Developers" room at FOSDEM, taking place in Brussels,
Belgium, on February 1st and 2nd 2020.
Even though we proposed this developers room, it will be about "*Free and
Open Source Game Development"* at large and not focused on Godot Engine.
Thus, we are calling for participations aimed at Free Softwares projects,
involved closely or less closely in game development. These participations
would consist in technical-oriented presentations during the GameDev room:
game developers, game engine developers, tools developers are very welcome.
Inkscape has grown into a big actor in drawing softwares recently, thanks
to the boost of SVG usage in multiple target applications. In the case of
game development, we also observe an increasing interest from creators with
such format and Inkscape is definitely the biggest actor in this regard.
We'd be very interested to discuss your plans and your needs regarding
Inkscapeevolution towards game development tooling.
You'll find some details on our past news post:
https://godotengine.org/article/cfp-game-development-room-fosdem-2020. If
you wish, you can of course respond to this mail for more precisions before
applying on FOSDEM's Pentabarf.
Waiting for your reply,
Best regards,
----
