Thanks to Kees and Bulia (and micelf) and others, we have almost put in place all current menu icons. We need however 3 more. After these are completed, then we can move on to replacing XPM icons in the interface. We're not planning to do any work on per-object sensitivity, just keep it as it is in Sodi. Instead when we will have layers we will be able to switch sensitivity and visibility per layer, which is much more convenient. New Markers code

I've just committed the patch from John and Carl for improving the markers support. There were a few build issues, but with some kludging the code compiles. It's buggy on my box, though, so is going to need more attention; I figure since there's 4 of us working on it, it'll be easier having the code in CVS than passing around patches. Meanwhile beware that playing with the marker widgets on the stroke style dialog may lead to a crash. But at least this moves us a good step closer to having markers available. Bryce

Translation comments

Hi, A note to translators: the following string #: src/dialogs/object-attributes.cpp:61 msgid "T0:" is not "to", but "t-zero" (see Spiral Properties). I just recently noticed this, and I personally had to correct my translation. Taking a look at other translations, I suspect at least 4-5 other people made the same mistake - I'm almost sure about the German and French translations being incorrect. Maybe we could also add a comment into the code for translators? If this is possible, then I also have other candidates for adding comments to: "Could not create sodipodi-svg-doc factory" "Role:" "Arcrole:" "Title:" "Em square" "Base radius to tip radius ratio" "gradientUnits" "gradientSpread" (For my personal comments on the above strings, see "po/hu.po".) ps-export

Where is the fun about ps-export when neither gradients nor imported pngs nor transparency attributes are being exported? Alright, it just that this would be handy for me right now. And speaking of it, ps2pdf always creates A4 documents, as ist seems. Does anybody know how to have it export A3 or any customized format? Or does anybody know another app for it? David

verbs and "help" menu

I was toying around with making some icons for the "help" menu, only to discover that hooking it up would prove difficult. Should the help menu setup ("sp_ui_help_menu") be converted to the verb-style of menus so we can more easily attach icons? Or is there a reason this menu wasn't converted? -- Kees Cook @outflux.net
