Hey all, Mainly because I got tired of having to modify multiple files if I ever do a "bzr revert", I just went ahead and simplified a couple other places we had experimental stuff in addition to Tavmjong's. The LPE Tool (Geometric Tool/Technical Tool... I don't recall the outward facing name) and all "test" or experimental LPEs can now be enabled in configure.ac by uncommenting line 110. This has replaced enabling these in toolbox.cpp and effect.cpp respectively. Yes, I could have added a mega "enable everything" line, but keeping the SVG2 stuff and LPE stuff separated seemed reasonable enough. Hopefully it makes it a little easier for others too... help on fillet LPE

Hi to all, im developing a filleting LPE tool [1]. For the moment and based in the work in powerstroke i have a LPE that: * Create a Knot for each cusp node, with movement restricted to a curve. * Update Knots at path change/add/sustract/reverse/append/erase Any body can point me about the usage of arcTo from Geom::Path? The points i know are: start of arc, and end of arc, and think allways is 180ª arc. Other points/values need to be calculated. I have something in my mind but i want to have a expertice opinion. New SVG compliance testing software

Hi! I have extended current software for running SVG compatipility test suite. Now it supports storing and reviewing test results by a web application. Test results for revision 13330 are available online at http://tboczkowski.linuxpl.info/svg_compliance/compliance/trunk. The general idea is to store the test results for selected revisions at server. There they can be reviewed manually. If result images of a test case are equal, they share the same mark. Client-side code [1] is based on Guiu Rocafort's solution. I added a module that packs the output directory, adds some metadata and sends them to server. Instead of provided input files, I use vanilla W3C test cases from [2]. Server-side application [3] is implemented as Django project. It stores information about test cases, test results and image marks in database. Tests results can be browsed and reviewed by web interface. Changing image mark is available for logged-in users only. To aid in reviewing images, I used image comparison functions from resemble.js library. When inkscape generated image is first clicked, it is replaced by raw difference with reference image. Second click switches to a diff ignoring antialiasing. Third click returns to original image. The next step will be to implement the generation of reference image library at server. It would consist of known passes and known fails. When a local testsuite will be run, client will download up-to-date library and compare test results to reference images. It can also calculate regressions and new passes since the latest revision stored at server. I have noticed that test results are greatly influenced by used fonts (e.g [4]). Since the test fonts are supplied with W3C test suite, it would be nice to use them. Does Inkscape support SVG and Woff fonts? If so, is there a command line switch or environment variable allowing to select the font directory? Do you think it would be sensible to add such option? I haven't yet rated the images. Try recompiling the build tool with this line: g++ buildtool.cpp -o btool -fopenmp rebuild, and see if it now works. Hi Devs, I've noticed there's quite a few LPE features going in, and it would be nice if we had a news article in the next few weeks that detailed them, their experimental or not status and any extra information. I'll do it as a fallback, but an LPE dev would be best to do a write-up. (send me any details if you think I should) I know there's been power stroke changes, there's the ponyscape LPEs on the horizon as well as Jabiertxof's Simplify and Perspective Envelope additions which are very useful. Filleting in SVG Spec.

Joining non-end nodes in Inkscape (both through GUI and LPE)

Hello, I am looking for a way to join two (potentially non-end) nodes from different paths into one, so when I move the node both paths are modified accordingly. I read the manual and I realize that the “Join” feature on Inkscape GUI will only join two end nodes. Is it possible to join two non-end nodes on GUI (to make an “X” with joined intersection node, for example?) More importantly, I would also like to do this in code, through LPE. For example, if I use Construct Grid LPE, it would be really nice if the output paths join all the intersection together, like what I demonstrate on the right of the following image: I also noticed that there was a similar idea being proposed a few years back and to my best knowledge I don’t think this feature exists yet. Put it simply, I’d like to know if there is a way to output paths from LPE so that some non-end nodes across different curves are joined. Thank you for your answers. Internal Coordinate System in Inkscape

Hi, I’m writing here for the first time so nice to meet you all! I started playing with Inkscape since a few weeks ago and one thing I haven’t really understood is the way coordinate system works on Inkscape. First of all, in the UI, the origin lies at the bottom-left corner of the canvas, with y-axis pointing upward (based on what Inkscape displayed when I moved my mouse around the canvas). However, when I created a path through an LPE and printed anchor positions as the path was moved around, I found that the internal coordinate system had y-axis pointing downward, with the origin (0,0) lying somewhere above the canvas instead. Is this an expected behavior? Is there a transformation matrix that transforms the internal positions to the canvas positions? I compiled Inkscape 0.48 from trunk on OS X Mavericks using clang 3.4 with required libraries compiled using libc++. If anyone knows about this I’d really appreciate your answer here.
