Inkscape Hackfests!

Dear Inkscaper, We plan on holding two Inkscape hackfests in the next half year. The first will be in Pasadena (Los Angeles), California from March 4th through March 6th.[1] This hackfest takes place just before the 2019 Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE). The second hackfest will at the Libre Graphics Meeting (LGM) in Saarbrücken, Germany (near the French/German border) from May 29th through June 2nd. We encourage all Inkscaper's (developers, designers, translators, etc.) to attend these hackfests. Financial support will be available to active participants in the Inkscape community. To be eligible for support you need to add your name to the appropriate "Attendees" page. [3][4] Don't hesitate to add your name even if your attendance is not certain yet. Failed builds on Launchpad - daily emails

Hi I keep getting daily emails about failed builds from "Launchpad Buildd System" [1, 2]. As Inkscape is now built on Gitlab infrastructure afaik is this something to look into or should launchpad builds be disabled somehow? Inkscape 0.93.3 Bug

Hello, we encountered a bug in the new Inkscape Verion (0.93.3) on our Fedora28 Workstations. Steps to reproduce: - Start Inkscape - Open a new document (Even if Inkscape opens one on defalut) - Write Text - Mark the text from right to left. -> Crash I can reproduce that every time and even with a new installed machine. flatpak installations works. But dnf package seems to be corrupt somehow. Here a few more debug infos: https://pastebin.com/ujHZVR6e I hope thats right here, i noticed that inkscape-tracker seems to be outdated.

Bitmap scan results in layers instead of objects.

The *bitmap scan feature * results in layers instead of objects, which leads to low quality conversion at times, is there any ongoing work or beta that supports that feature, I will be glad to help in any way I can to implement it in case its possible to do so. Best, Aditya Sher

Repeated tasks:

Is there any plugin which will help me achieve repeated tasks? Like: There are 52 files, with exact same layers and all same objects (except top layer). Is there a way to change color of object in lowest layer (for all 52 files) Or delete all objects of a layer and replace them with objects present in same layer of file 1. In case it doesn't exist, how can one look forward to developing such a plugin? Is it feasible? and most importantly do others feel the need or its just me because I am doing a exception case task which will rarely occur? Also as a question, in case such a feature doesn't exist, has anyone else faced a similar problem and wished to eliminate such repeated tasks? Regards, Aditya Sher

Autosave for inkscape

I was wondering whether inkscape has autosave, of not I would be willing to work on it, (under a mentor) in upcoming winter break, since I feel autosave is a highly useful feature for vector editors, because we tend to forget to his ctrl+s so often :(

As easy way to use development (or 1.0 preview) in Ubuntu 18.10

Hi again. https://inkscape.org/release/master/platforms/ doesn't mention upcoming 1.0 at all, and I don't see there an easy way to use development builds in Ubuntu 18.10. Like PPA or better snap. ✗ sudo snap info inkscape ... snap-id: tIrcA87dMWthuDORCCRU0VpidK5SBVOc channels: stable: 0.92.3 (4274) 177MB - candidate: 0.92.3 (4349) 180MB - beta: ↑ edge: 0.92+devel (4265) 192MB - For this snap I'd expect the serial number for edge to be higher than stable, and that means the snap is not updated. So is there any other recommended (which means user friendly in this context) to check latest development versions of Inkscape to give a quick feedback? -- anatoly t.
