Mask and clip_path attribute are not copied during opération, only style is copied. That's the case for object to path function. I discover than using simplify function (that do an object to path transformation), the object become path, but with the patch attached to this bug report, the mask/clip-path are keeped. This is because ths simplification function call the sp_shape_get_curve(SP_SHAPE(item)) function, and mange itself style/mask/clip-path copy with the patch. I tried to find the equivalent object to path function without succes. Their is only to keep mask & clip-path attribute and paste them in the object created after transformation. Yes, linked offset is obviously broken by ignoring the transform. It would be nice if you could fix it. It shouldn't be too difficult. If you run into problems, let me know. By the way, you don't need masks or clippaths to reveal this. In Inkscape Preferences, Transforms tab, we have a switch which forces Inkscape to always store transforms as matrices (Store transformations: Preserved). Tried to modify this function used at the creation of the linked object : sp_selected_path_create_offset_object() in src/splivarot.cpp This isn't enough. I believe the most important is to have the matrix of the transform attribute copied by string at each update, the applied. How to remove several bugs in inkscape.

I found a bug in several objects after applying mask/clip-path giving me clue for lot of bug I found in inkscape. the object created (linked offset, or in some case a text to path,...) didn't follow the original object position. But keep the position of the object at the moment of setting of the mask/clip-path That's because when a mask/clip-path is set on an object, when the object move, the object coordinates are not longer modified, but a translation matrix is applied. At least the linked offset, doesn't duplicate transformation matrix (transformation attribute), then keep the original position/rotation. This cause the offset to go to buggy place when the original object is rotated + moved even without mask/clip-path. I will try to resolve this bug quickly but some help would be welcome.

Heya guys, did you all see that 150 million phones have now shipped that have SVG tiny support! http://svg.org/story/2006/9/27/121431/107 Anyway, I'm curious to revive this discussion about what we need to do to get Inkscape up to par with using differing SVG profiles. win32 cairo with ft support

Ishmal, the current svn does not compile. There is a call to some cairo_ft_ function in the inkscape source. Our win32-cairo version is not compiled with freetype support. I got a cairo-dev from the glade/gtk+ for windows project from sourceforge http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=98754 Now it compiles. DO we have to update our cairo package or do we continue with the current and have to modify this single call to the unsupported cairo function. Thanks, Adib. ---

NEW: clone tiling with blurring

The Tile Clones dialog now supports blurring. On the "Blur & opacity" tab, you can set the blur percentage per row or per column of your tiling, as well as randomize blurring and make it alternate (all the same options as for Opacity). -- bulia byak Inkscape. Draw Freely. http://www.inkscape.org
