Jon, your share/examples/presentation takes 2Mb, and most of that is not even SVG. We discussed and decided that it does not really belong in the program distribution; this type of content is more for the web site. The examples directory is for demonstrating SVG/Inkscape techniques and uses. So I propose that we remove the presentation/ dir, and in the examples/ dir, leave one default-slide.svg as an example of a presentation slide in SVG. Instead, I just added a new gradient.svg that demoes the multi-stop and excentric gradients, and tiger.svgz which is sort of classic vector image, showing Inkscape speed and rendering quality (and also svgz support). Also, I added two new tricks to the Tips and Tricks tutorial and edited the rest to bring them up to date. Project Status Sunday, April 4, 2004 We've achieved the goal set forth for the 0.38 release. The ratio of open-to-closed bug reports has been reduced from 33% to our goal of 10%, representing over 160 bugs closed during the 0.38 development cycle. Of the total of 285 bugs registered against Inkscape since the project's inception, fewer than 30 remain. We're ready at this point to make the release, but want to do some final QA, doublecheck that the contributed translation work is incorporated, and see about getting a couple critical Windows bugs patched. Looking forward, we've greatly revised our roadmap, stretching it out as far as the 0.51 release. Note that our roadmap is a reflection of what developers anticipate needing/wanting to work on, rather than a cast-in-stone set of orders, and is expected to change as we learn more and as new developers with new interests get involved. For this next release, we'd previously identified Extensions as the focus, however we're not as far along in terms of design as we need to be, so instead have pushed that back a couple releases, and will be focusing on adopting first Pango in 0.39, then GtkMM in 0.40. The Pango adoption is expected to solve a wide number of rather deep bugs and fundamental limitations in the text system, while the GtkMM change has been long anticipated for helping us get the GUI code in better, more maintainable order. Pen tool UI modification

Hi, Should I post to the list when I submit a patch to the tracker? Or should discussion take place on the tracker? I'm not sure, so I'll post here about a patch I've just submitted. Currently, a right click while drawing a path with the pen opens the menu. This patch changes this behaviour so that a right click while creating a path aborts the current line segment and finishes the path. Justification for this behaviour: 1. AFAICS there is no way of aborting the current line segment, so if you single-click left when you meant to double-click you can't quickly undo your action. 2. There doesn't seem to be any use for the menu when you are actually in the process of drawing a line. Any thoughts welcome. Cheers Carl

Suse RPM package dependency error
