However, I found that straight up conversion of SPDesktop to ::Edit to be difficult; I attempted to do this in one all-at-once conversion but it quickly unravelled into a mess. I think the best approach is to do the conversion a piece at a time. Start at an easy point and work your way in. The place I found to start was with converting SPView to C++. I've got this about half done, and it'll be fairly obvious what's left to do. After that, it may make sense to go ahead and knock out conversion of the SPViewWidget class next, since that's not too complicated. Since SPDesktop derives from SPView, having SPView in C++ is the first step to convert SPDesktop. Next thing would be to start converting SPDesktop into a C++ class. Next move the file(s) to their proper final location. Finally rename SPDesktop to Inkscape::UI::View::Edit. I found for the renaming, that it helped to create a typedef. Note that there are some forward definitions of the class that get in the way; I wasn't sure if it was better to remove them or to try to refactor them. Ultimately, though, at some point you have to just start going through the whole codebase and rename stuff. problem with menus.xml

I've just realized a rather big problem with menus.xml: it tends to freeze the menus in the state they were in at the time menus.xml was created. If we release with it in its present form, it means that users may not see the benefits of future menu reorganizations. -mental

Por el "no": no hacer nada. Por el "si": Enviar mail a: delafe@...400... Poner en Asunto: "si Oficial" Segunda opción: Y en el caso de ser pocos, se puede armar una lista no oficial de inkscape en castellano y/o español igual. Sept 7, 2005 UTC - Release 0.17 of the Open Clip Art Library (http://www.openclipart.org) is now available on-line for download as an individual package consisting of over 5000 images submitted by over 500 international artists. The size of this release successfully exceeds the months "OCAL 5K Pledge" of 5000 images thanks to the contributions by new and old contributors. Hi, Is there a way to publish a document as package including the images that are linked to the document. It would make it far more easy to send inkscape work to someone per email and also to move documents to other file structures. I know inkscape is able to show a base encoded image but this makes inkscape very slow, so this is probably not the right method. If not would it be possible to create a extention which could save a file as tarball or zip with the images in it? If so I will try to create it? swatches?

Hey guys! I don't quite get it. I kinda assume that I'm just not understanding how I can add colours to a custom swatches palette. I mean swatches have been around for quite a while now, but so far I don't see the point in it, if I can't create my own palette with custom colours. Please help me with this. It's important for icon themes, publishing, well everything. Is is seriously not yet possible? David

Xar file format (aka Flare) and Xarlib

Before I forget.... It seems Xara was at one point trying to compete with Flash and released their Flare file format which later came to be known as Xar. The anti SVG and SWF proganda is almost funny and it is about as interesting as reading a file format specification can be. The Xar specifications are available on the Xara website http://www.xara.com/support/docs/webformat/spec/ There code seems to be available for processing the file format and the terms of use do not seem draconian so it might be possible to make use of it and maybe allow Inkscape to import Xara files. Given how interested bulia is in Xara perhaps he is already aware of this but I hadn't heard any mention of it before (on the list/wiki/bugtracker) and thought it might be of interest.
