Hi, A few textual problems with "0.44+devel, built Jan 13 2007". possible typo ------------- "Star: Change spike ratio" (I guess it should be "spoke", like in "Spoke ratio:") untranslatable strings ---------------------- "Stroke:" (in fill/stroke widget on toolbar and in prefs) "Fill:" (in fill/stroke widget on toolbar and in prefs) "clipped" (in status bar message) appears in English, even if translated -------------------------------------- "Use the pressure of the input device to alter the width of the pen" "Use the tilt of the input device to alter the angle of the pen's nib" same string, different meaning (should be split) ------------------------------------------------ "Clone" (as selection describer: noun -- in undo history: verb) tooltips don't show up ---------------------- Calligraphy toolbar tooltips are not displayed. questions --------- "Source left bound" -- does this mean "left edge of source"? "Nudge" -- what does it mean? "Make connectors with end-markers (arrows) point downwards" -- what does this function do? Thrice-daily Inkscapes

Hello! I'm happy to announce that the Bleeding-Edge Inkscape Factory is up and running again! Inkscape is being cross-compiled to Windows three-times a day, and the resulting packages are being uploaded to Modevia's Inkscape site (thanks again, Mike!). You can find them here: http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32-snap/ There are ZIP, 7z, and .exe installers for each successful build. I would like to hear some feedback on whether the ZIP files are useful, since they take 47 MB of disk space each (47*3 = 141 MB daily!). Hello, I have a problem with the about screen. The blurs seem to be clipped and there is nothibng I can do about it. Looks like the blur problem is still persisting on my system (altough it's a clean install of 0.45 pre0). I attach the about screen file, along with another SVG (10.svg) showing the same problems and screenshots of the way these files are rendered on my system. Can anyone not having this blur rendering bug undertake the about screen finition please? - redraw the glare under the sharpest ball so it look normally, not as if it was clipped. If you don't have the same rendering as me, then just try to resave the SVG and send it to me, I'll see if the file saved by another system shows differently on mine... - slightly unblur the sharpest ball so it looks more realistic (now it's set to 3.5%, and needs to be reduced to 1-1,5%. I cannot do it because of bug [ 1617082 ] Blur UI: value quantization, slider behavior] ) Apologizes for the bunch of attachments. Many thanks. does inkboard work?

Thinking back, I can't remember successfully sharing a document since the rewrite of inkboard. I have on occation been able to connect to google talk and chat with the embedded pedro client. Today I installed a local wildfire server to remove as many variables as possible. Now I can't even connect. Inkboard gives "login: no second SASL challenge offered by server." So my question is this. Who has gotten inkboard to work recently? And how did you do it? Aaron Spike

With the bug hunt out of the way, the last bit of bug fixing work is to attend any MustFix bugs. These are extremely serious bugs such as ones that cause frequent crashes, or that risk bad data loss. I've gone through the current (as of 1/8/07) bug list and separated out the ones that a) we don't have enough info to debug, b) are out of our hands anyway, or c) don't cause crashes or data loss. Please review this list and identify any you can show to be must fix bugs. Hi all, I've gone through all of the critical bugs (level 9) that are still open and knocked out all the ones that are still needing info or that don't lead to crashes/deadlocks/dataloss/etc. These are the bugs that remain: 1633884 make check failure in svg-color.cpp 1633685 Crash on undo connector 1630756 memory limit 1 GB 1630101 crash inkscape click in connectors network align 1624076 Crash after changing canvas size fields by click 1612057 memory limit at 1GB 1587063 Infinite loop / Deadlock on Windows 1576715 Crash when ungrouping connectors 1565938 crash in sp_font_selector_size_changed 1557355 Crash when clicking on the "Object style" button 1551606 Crash when selecting font 1547502 ** Inkscape crash when Text dialog called 1543598 Crashes when in Latin1 path name 1537529 CRASH with shape tool and popup menu mouse clicks 1503564 win2003 SP1: crash on start 1499971 detect and warn about installed libsmooth 1467137 Shrinking a pattern causes lock-up 1441003 flowRoot error with inkscape's svg It'd be a miracle if all of these were closed prior to the 0.45 release. There is only one bug that I am truly concerned with for the release (marked ** above), but even that one is not being hit by everyone (although I suspect one of the other font bugs is a dupe of it). What do others think? Are there any bugs above that you feel would ruin Inkscape 0.45 if we didn't fix in the release? Or any bugs that aren't listed, that you think should be? Bryce

Inkscape svn head unfrozen - return to regular development

With the 0.45 release branch now established, all developers may now return to regular unfrozen development on svn head. :-) Changes for the 0.45 (like translations, bug fixes, tutorial updates, etc.) will need to be committed to both HEAD and the release branch. Bryce
