Hi, i miss the revision number in the splash screen on an windows devel. I think it's imoprtant for users who want to file bugs. Can someone fix this 'problem'? Sincerely, UweSch

Hi everybody, I did a bzr checkout and tried to compile a more recent version of inkscape - both: X11 and aqua. In both procedures the following configure error occured: > configure: error: You have a broken version of the <tr1/ > unordered_set> header. See http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/ > CompilingMacOsX for information on how to fix this problem. The wiki page says I shall get a > Working version of the <tr1/unordered_set> and <tr1/unordered_map> > headers but doesnt say how I can get one. Could someone tell me? BTW.: What I noticed is that the osx-build.sh script still contains some code on svn. This may not be relevant in this context - but might be worth to be fixed occasionally. Shall I file it as a bug? Inkscape 0.48 About Screen Contest - slight delay

Hey all, I was looking forward to announcing the contest beginning today... however we will have a slight delay before it begins. The reason behind the delay... we need some new builds with new features for our users! So, would packagers for win32 and OSX be willing to put some builds together soon for our users? enhancing shortcuts schemes

Hi, It's probably not very well known that keyboard shortcuts in localized (e.g. Russian) UI do not work in Windows. This is one of the oldest GTK+ bugs that nobody bothers to fix. A user has just come up with an clever hackaround that looks like this: bind key="g" action="ToolGradient" / bind key="G" action="ToolGradient" / bind key="Cyrillic_pe" action="ToolGradient" / bind key="Cyrillic_PE" action="ToolGradient" / That is, he specifically maps Russian "P" character which is on the same key that English "G" is. He also patched relevant parts for Illustrator, Corel DRAW etc. schemes. This is probably not Dvorak-pron, though. Should we ship patched versions of the shortcut schemes? Alexandre

inkscape aqua PPC alpha for testing

Hello friends, thanks to many hints, especially by ~suv, a new ready-for-testing inkscape aqua can be downloaded here: http://verkehrsplanung.com/Inkscape_aqua_PPC_047.zip It should launch alone without any macports environment, may immediately kill the X11 after its launch - and makes a quite useable impression. It was made on a PPC, 10.4.11. Unluckily I cannot switch to the universal variants at the moment, so I'd be grateful if some intel owner would check whether it runs on rosetta. I manually removed i386 python components, this may cause intel machines to get in trouble. Also, I couldnt check whether it works on Leopard or Snowie… If somebody has some spare time, maybe he wants to have a look at it. Hi all, I am a french student in «Master 1» of computer sciences (equivalent to a Bac+4). I use Inkscape every days during my studies and hobbies. That's why, I am interested by the development of Inkscape. I have some skills in C/C++ and Doxygen but I never have contributed to an open source project. During my studies, I have done some programs, like an « image manipulation » program in C++ with QT, and some programs with GTK+. Also, I know how to report bugs, i already reported some bugs in Launchpad. Currently, I have done a checkout of inkscape with Bazaar. And I maked the project, he is correctly running. So now, I am asking you what can I do in order to help the project. If you want to ask me questions, we can go on IRC or something else. Hi developers, I miss very much keyboard shortcuts to single alignment tools like align top, align center, align right .... This speeds up my work a lot when using CorelDraw (here keys l,r,t,b,c,e,p can be used for). src/verbs.cpp contains only a limited set of accessible commands (verbs). I'm not familiar with the inkscape source code. Can this please made accessible for future releases? Or is it possible to define shortcuts to the alignement tools with user defined python scripts? (I am familiar with python). Thanks for help, Chris
