Inkscape .deb package

Our PPA to do autobuilds of releases broke with the switch from bzr to git; I tried coaxing it back to life but no go so far. Is anyone familiar with creating .deb packages, and available right now to help build a regular .deb package of Inkscape? If so, catch me on IRC. I'm not sure where we are with the new vectors team. But hopefully starting with the next release, it will be organized enough to handle making the announcments. Meanwhile, would you like a News items for this? I was just about to make posts in forums, but maybe a News item would would be helpful as well? Inkscape Gradient Handles Python API

This is my first post in this mail list. Does Inkscape Python API provide access to current coordinate points of gradient handles? Radial gradient handles have three coordinates (similar to an L-shape) and Linear gradient handles shows only two coordinates (drawing a single line) Does exists a plugin that could draw these handles similar to Visualize Path plugin "draw handles" (handles.py inside Inkscape extensions folder)? Hi Friends, I had started a thread a little over a year ago now. The question was, would it be possible for the mouse pointer (holding or dragging nothing, just by itself) to snap to something like nodes. Because selecting a number of individual nodes, in a situation where dragging a selection box wouldn't work, I was thinking if the mouse pointer (Node tool) could snap to nodes, it would make it much faster to select them individually. https://sourceforge.net/p/inkscape/mailman/message/35137850 So there was a long discussion, and some people actually came up with some functionality using a key combination (I think Shift + something, iirc). So when the mouse pointer was within some distance of a node, pressing the key combination selected that node. But the whole thing kind of died when it turned out the only available key was on the right side of the keyboard, which would be awkward for me (probably most right-handers). But I see in the draft for the release announcement, for 0.92.2, that some more keys have been freed up for user-defined shortcuts, which were not available before. So it got me thinking, and I wonder what those keys are, and whether it would bring this idea back to life. Thanks for comments :-) All best, brynn
